DESCRIPTION
Talent Alchemy is a solution that supports employees by determining critical leadership capabilities and providing targeted development. This product automates the collection of feedback from stakeholders following observable events (e.g., MBR or Townhall) and learning program events (e.g., GM Academy). Insights help leaders identify strengths and growth areas, benchmark themselves against the best, and determine actionable next steps for improvement. In the future, the product will analyze feedback and learner profiles to inform personalized recommendations at scale.
The Talent Alchemy team is looking for an Software Development Engineer to design, build and maintain our native AWS cloud-based solutions and cross system integrations.
This includes end-to-end designing, developing, testing, deploying and troubleshooting solutions using Java, Typescript, NodeJS, ReactJS, Stencil and other relevant web development technologies.
Key job responsibilities
- Ownership of key technical aspects of the Talent Alchemy platform, including managing 1P/3P dependencies.
- Perform technical analysis, design, development, implementation of features with necessary customization.
- Independently deliver Java services running on Native AWS infrastructure.
- Build web frontend solutions using HTML, CSS, TypeScript, ReactJS.
- Troubleshoot, support and fix defects for planned releases and production issues
A day in the life
Your morning starts off with a heavy focus on collaboration, you'll be in any meetings then. You'll ask questions, give answers and collaborate with stakeholders at the start of your day.
Mid-day means a lunch break and a shift into focusing on your deliverables. Your senior engineer and manager are both in your time zones, so you'll lean on them to get clarification on making sure your on the right track.
Once you find a good stopping point for the day, you'll check your Slack for some final end of day updates, and then head home for the day.

This team prioritizes delivering value to it's customers and supporting each other in the process.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
