We are looking for a talented Senior Frontend Engineer (React) to join our growing React team and play a key role in migrating our ecommerce frontend from SFCC to Next.js, hosted on Vercel. You will work in an integrated scrum team with other software engineers, QA engineers, designers, and product managers to create best-in-class front-end experiences for a beloved athletic brand. 

 

This position will work on the development of key functionality across the entire ASICS ecosystem in areas such as eCommerce, loyalty, profile management, cross-platform integrations, security, and more. 

 

ASICS Digital is a division of ASICS based in Boston, Massachusetts. Our goal is to build digital technologies to better connect the ASICS brand to its consumers. We are responsible for the continued development of mobile-fitness solutions such as ASICS Runkeeper and ASICS Studio, global eCommerce platforms, and supporting digital services that encourage people to move, get fit, and stay balanced.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the migration of our ecommerce frontend from SFCC to Next.js hosted on Vercel. 
  • Become a subject matter expert in our frontend applications and composable architecture. 
  • Collaborate with Software Engineers, Product Managers, Project Managers, and UX Designers to transform wireframes and user stories into functional requirements. 
  • Contribute to the development of the team, codebase, and engineering organization. 
  • Prototype and build proposed technology solutions. 
  • Provide guidance and support to implementation teams in the form of end-to-end diagrams, system integrations, and technical requirements. 
  • Collaborate and engage with developers as needed, providing technical direction and code review. 
  • Inspire and guide the future of our frontend applications. 


Requirements:
  • 8 Years minimum working experience as a Front-End Engineer 
  • 2-3 Years minimum experience in React (preferably in a Next.js environment).  
  • Expertise working with state management (e.g., Redux, MobX, Jotai). 
  • Proficiency in modern CSS-in-JS solutions (e.g., Emotion, Styled Components). 
  • Strong foundational understanding of design systems and component libraries. 
  • Strong knowledge and experience in REST, GraphQL, and API best practices. 
  • Experience building and migrating large frontend applications. 
  • Experience with TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES6+). 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or IT or equivalent field. 


Nice to Have:
  • Experience with our tech stack: Vercel, Contentstack, Storybook, Atomic Design, and Salesforce suite of products (SFCC, SFSC). 
  • Experience working in an Agile environment. 
  • Familiarity with other CMSs (e.g., Contentful). 
  • Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Cypress). 
  • Prior work in an eCommerce or consumer products environment. 


Location:
  • This role will be a Hybrid role based out of the Greater Boston Area.
