Responsibilities:

Develop new user-facing features using React.js.
Responsible for helping define architecture standards, selecting appropriate technologies, and guiding the development lifecycle to ensure robust and efficient web applications.
Build reusable components and front-end libraries for future use.
Translate designs and wireframes into high quality code.
Optimize components for maximum performance across a vast array of web-capable devices and browsers.
Collaborate with engineering, design, user experience, product and analytics teams to identify needs, evaluate requirements, write specifications, and design and implement sophisticated software systems.
Bring a proven understanding of algorithms, design patterns, debugging and memory/performance optimization.
Create documentation and tech plans for new architecture/system designs.
Conduct regular code reviews to ensure high quality.

Desired Skills & Experience

Demonstrated expertise in architecting comprehensive frontend systems, focusing on overall system design, scalability, and performance optimization.
Thorough understanding of React.js and its core principles.
Experience with popular React.js workflows such as Redux.
Experience using styling libraries such as Tailwind CSS.
Knowledge of modern authorization mechanisms, such as JSON Web Tokens.
Experience with common front-end development tools such as Babel, Webpack, NPM, etc.
Familiarity with RESTful API as well as modern front-end build pipelines and tools.
Experienced in modern dev tools, process and methodologies like TDD, Unit Testing & Functional testing using Mocha, Chai, Jest or other frameworks
Good communication skills – particularly the ability to discuss timelines, design concerns and provide helpful feedback to team members.
GraphQL & Next.js experience is a plus.

Compensation

The base annual compensation range for this role for employees based in Canada is $130,000-170,000. This salary range is inclusive of several career levels at ClimateAi and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, business need and Canadian location.
