Here’s a summary of the role:
You’ll help shape a new mobile product that is still being built, giving you real influence over how it is designed, developed, and scaled. This is a senior React Native role for someone who is confident building high-performance cross-platform apps while also knowing when to go deeper into native iOS and Android development. If you enjoy solving complex mobile engineering challenges, improving app performance, and taking technical ownership, this role will give you the space to make a visible impact.

Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll do (not all of it, just the important stuff):

  • Build and improve cross-platform mobile applications using React Native, with a strong focus on quality, performance, and usability.
  • Integrate React Native with native iOS and Android modules when platform-specific functionality is needed.
  • Work closely with product, design, and backend teams to deliver new features from idea through release.
  • Make technical decisions on architecture, code quality, release workflows, and mobile engineering best practices.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, improve responsiveness and memory usage, and keep the app stable as it scales.
  • Mentor other developers and act as a senior technical point of contact within the team.

These are the essentials you’ll need to get an interview:

  • 6+ years of mobile application development experience, including strong hands-on experience with React Native.
  • Strong JavaScript or TypeScript skills, with a solid understanding of React Native fundamentals, component design, and state management.
  • Practical native mobile development experience on iOS and Android using Swift, Objective-C, Kotlin, or Java.
  • Strong understanding of cross-platform mobile architecture, including integrating native modules into React Native applications.
  • Experience working with APIs, mobile networking, third-party integrations, and app performance optimisation.
  • Good understanding of Git, branching strategies, and mobile CI/CD or release processes.
  • Clear communication skills, strong technical ownership, and the ability to support or mentor other developers.
  • Bonus if you’ve worked with Expo, GraphQL, or modern mobile data-layer tools.
  • Nice to have experience with offline storage solutions such as SQLite or Realm.
  • Exposure to app store release processes, deep linking, push notifications, or cross-platform performance tuning

It would be great if you had these to, but we’ll support you if you don’t:

  • Familiarity with Agile delivery environments and working closely with cross-functional product teams.
  • You’re keen to grow into a broader technical leadership role over time.
