Elements is growing and ambitious! As part of our exciting expansion, we just moved from Almere to Amsterdam and we’re looking for an Android Front‑End Developer to help us build apps millions rely on. While your primary focus is Android, experience with React Native will give you an edge, since we deliver projects across both native and cross-platform.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

You’ll build and enhance Android application features that not only look great but also keep our mobile codebase scalable and robust. You will join our agile team, actively participating in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and daily ceremonies.

You will collaborate closely with backend developers, product owners, security, and compliance teams to ensure secure and compliant functionality. From developing UI tests to supporting end-to-end testing, you’ll ensure we are always production-ready.You’ll stay involved during integration and launch, tackling issues head-on with a sharp eye on delivery quality and timelines. With our increasing focus on mobile applications, both for our existing and greenfield projects, you will have the exciting opportunity to apply your skills across a range of innovative applications.

WHAT YOU BRING

***Important: Please note, for this role we can only consider candidates already based in the Netherlands with a valid work visa.

You’re someone who communicates clearly in English and can easily connect with colleagues and clients alike. With a proactive mindset and an open, collaborative attitude, you thrive in team environments and enjoy finding solutions together. You’re curious by nature, quick to learn new skills and genuinely enjoy the variety of working on different types of projects. Frequent changes don't phase you; instead, you embrace an adaptive approach to evolving priorities. On top of that, you bring a healthy sense of commercial awareness, allowing you to balance technical excellence with the bigger picture of delivering value.

Your tech skills and experience:

• 3-6 years of professional Android development experience, preferably within banking, payments, or regulated environments
• At least 3 years of general development experience (e.g. TypeScript/JavaScript (ES6+) or frontend React
• Android SDK, Kotlin (or Java where applicable)
• Android UI frameworks (e.g. XML layouts, Jetpack components) 
• Mobile payment / wallet integrations (payment APIs) – exact SDKs/APIs
• Familiarity with continuous integration and delivery pipelines
• Agile tooling (e.g. Jira, Confluence)
• REST API integration with backend services
• UI testing frameworks (e.g. Espresso) 
• Hands-on experience bringing mobile to production with CI/CD
• While your main focus is Android, prior experience with React Native is expected as we look to expand our future projects. You should be comfortable working (or ready to dive into) RN development to ensure our mobile codebase remains versatile
