The Role of a Principal Engineer
We are excited to be searching for a Principal Engineer to join our team at Employment Hero. As we have grown our customer base and product, so too have we grown our engineering team and the infrastructure that they support.
As our Principal Software Engineer, you'll find the role has a lot of variety. At times you will be hands on with the implementation of the critical services and infrastructure that powers the Employment Hero products. At other times you will be coaching and mentoring engineers across the company. You will find yourself reviewing technical designs put forward by your peer engineering teams and bringing your years of wisdom to help guide them towards effective architectures. You will need to balance the immediacy of delivery against long term technical vision.
To be a success in this role you will have years of experience working in the cloud and know how to best leverage the myriad services available within AWS. You will be involved in helping teams setup operational tooling and practices to ensure they can take ownership of the stability of their features and the platform as a whole. You will maintain awareness of technological trends and help guide the technical vision of Employment Hero. You will demonstrate a passion for the art of software engineering, and spread that passion throughout the engineering team.
This role brings in an individual with many years of experience building and operating world class cloud software solutions, and reports directly to the Head of Architecture.
