About Us

We're November Five. We’re makers. Doers, designers, strategists. Different backgrounds, one mindset. We say what we mean and do what we say. Passion walks in the door; expertise evolves over time.

Feedback is direct. We’re hard on the work but soft on the people behind it. As craftsmen and women across our core capabilities, our passion transcends our expertise, and the roles we assume are fluid. United in our drive to defy limits and move beyond, we collaborate deeply, always on the lookout for more allies.

About The Job

As a React Native Engineer at November Five, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality cross-platform mobile applications used by thousands of users. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver robust, scalable, and delightful mobile experiences across both iOS and Android platforms. You will also help shape our engineering culture, contribute to architectural decisions, and ensure our apps meet the highest standards of performance, security, and usability.

IF YOU JOIN US, YOU WILL:

  • Design, build, and maintain advanced mobile applications using React Native, ensuring code quality, scalability, and maintainability across iOS and Android platforms.
  • Own technical decisions for React Native products, lead by example through hands-on coding, code reviews, and technical problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend teams to define, design, and ship new features that delight users.
  • Drive the adoption of best practices in testing (unit, integration, E2E), automation, and continuous integration.
  • Leverage AI-powered development tools to accelerate development, improve code quality, and enhance productivity.
  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications across a wide range of iOS and Android devices and OS versions.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize app performance, proactively identifying and resolving bottlenecks and bugs.
  • Bridge native platform capabilities with JavaScript, implementing native modules when necessary for optimal performance.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest React Native trends, libraries, and technologies, and evaluate their potential for our products.
  • Contribute to the design and evolution of our mobile architecture and participate in technical discussions and decision-making.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers, sharing knowledge and promoting best practices.
  • Proven experience developing and maintaining high-quality React Native applications, with at least one app published on both the App Store and Google Play Store.
  • Deep technical expertise in React Native, JavaScript/TypeScript, and the React ecosystem (e.g., Redux, Context API, React Navigation).
  • Strong understanding of mobile UI/UX design principles, responsive design, and best practices for building accessible and visually appealing cross-platform apps.
  • Experience with native iOS (Swift) and/or Android (Kotlin) development and integrating native modules is a strong plus.
  • Experience integrating with RESTful APIs, handling offline storage, asynchronous operations, and performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered development tools and code assistants (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, OpenAI Codex) to enhance development workflows and productivity.
  • Ability to effectively incorporate AI tools into daily development practices while maintaining code quality, security, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks (React Native Testing Library, Maestro), CI/CD pipelines (Bitrise), and version control (Git).
  • Knowledge of software design patterns, scalable architecture, and security best practices for mobile apps.
  • Experience working in agile teams and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
  • Passion for learning, sharing knowledge, and mentoring others.
  • A mindset aligned with our values of amazement, heart, and results.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Fluency in English; Dutch is a plus.
