Role overview

The Senior Software Engineer builds and evolves Okta’s web platform using React, Next.js, and TypeScript. The role has substantial autonomy and focuses on scalable page systems, performance, CMS integrations, and efficient engineering workflows.

Responsibilities

• Build reusable page templates, features, and component systems with Next.js, TypeScript, and React.
• Design scalable data-fetching patterns for headless CMS content using GraphQL and REST APIs.
• Transform structured content into polished, accessible, responsive frontend experiences.
• Collaborate with content architects on content models and clean mappings between CMS data and frontend templates.
• Optimize Web Vitals, rendering performance, maintainability, and developer experience.
• Use AI-assisted development tools while maintaining high engineering and review standards.
• Work closely with designers, content teams, and engineers on ambiguous platform problems.

Qualifications

• Strong professional experience with React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
• Experience with GraphQL, REST, headless CMS systems, reusable component architecture, and performance optimization.
