The Codex engineering team is reimagining the software-development lifecycle with AI, building developer-facing experiences such as IDE and terminal workflows while applying agents across design, implementation, code review, testing, debugging, remediation, maintenance, documentation, and support.

About the role

This Full Stack Software Engineer owns complete AI-powered developer experiences spanning user interfaces, workflow orchestration, agent and prompt design, backend systems, cloud infrastructure, and developer tooling. The role is strongly product-oriented and focuses on removing friction from how software is built.

Responsibilities

• Build end-to-end product experiences across frontend applications, backend services, agent workflows, cloud infrastructure, and developer tooling.
• Design AI-powered workflows that generalize across engineering teams, languages, codebases, and development practices.
• Discover and implement new ways to apply AI throughout the software-development lifecycle.
• Work closely with product, research, design, and engineering to rapidly prototype, ship, and refine developer workflows.
• Build reliable systems and interfaces used by individual developers, open-source contributors, and large engineering organizations.
• Contribute to technical architecture, product direction, experimentation, observability, and operational quality.

Qualifications

• Strong full-stack product engineering experience.
• Experience building modern frontend applications with TypeScript and React.
• Backend and systems experience; Rust and related systems technologies are relevant to the team.
• Strong product judgment and interest in developer tools, AI agents, and software-engineering workflows.
