The ChatGPT Shopping team is building personalized, multimodal consumer experiences that combine language, images, interactive interfaces, recommendations, and commerce. The team works at the intersection of AI research, product engineering, design, and large-scale consumer products.

About the role

This role is for a full-stack product engineer who can create polished consumer experiences from the ground up. The work spans frontend and backend development, AI-powered workflows, rich interactive interfaces, personalization, and commerce, with rapid prototyping and iteration alongside design, research, product, and model teams.

Responsibilities

• Build new shopping and discovery experiences across modern web interfaces and backend services.
• Develop interactive, multimodal product flows that combine conversation, visual understanding, personalization, and commerce.
• Own features end to end from prototype through production launch and iteration.
• Integrate new model capabilities into user-facing product experiences.
• Collaborate closely with designers, researchers, product managers, and model teams.
• Improve quality, performance, reliability, accessibility, and user experience through experimentation and product metrics.

Qualifications

• Strong product-focused full-stack engineering background.
• Experience with React, TypeScript, Next.js, and modern web development.
• Backend experience with technologies such as Python, Go, or Node.js and production APIs.
• Strong consumer-product judgment and interest in AI-native interaction patterns.
