OpenGov seeks an experienced React Native Mobile Engineer for our Citizen Services team.  The government’s primary function is to provide services to its constituents, and this cannot be done well without a world-class platform for communication between governments and their citizens. CIT is not only that product but also a rapidly growing market leader with more than 300 customers, very Cumulative Annual Recurring Revenue, and an exceptional Average Selling Price (ASP). CIT is in store for significant improvement in 2023 that enlarges our Product Market Fit (PMF) including customizable Notifications, Advanced Inspection Scheduling, New Workflows, and a variety of Mobile Native app enhancements.

Responsibilities:
OpenGov is looking to hire an experienced Senior Software Engineer to be part of our Citizen Services Team in the R&D Organization. In this role, you will contribute to building our industry-leading Mobile Native iOS and Android apps as a member of a fast-moving autonomous team. The successful candidate will take a hands-on role in developing new user interfaces and core system capabilities to enhance and develop application features.

Requirements and Preferred Experience:
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience required
• 4+ years of experience in Software Development 
• React Native development experience for Android and iOS
• Programming, debugging, and profiling skills in one or more of the following languages: TypeScript, JavaScript, and front-end Frameworks including ReactJS, Svelt, Vue,  Angular, EmberJS, etc  (ReactJS is preferred)
• React state management, eg: Redux, Hooks, React-Query, etc
• Experience working remotely with other resources across the globe
• Understanding of API fundamentals and ability to integrate front-end  applications with REST and/or GraphQL services
• Experience improving code quality through a combination of unit, integration tests (Jest, Mocha, Sinon, Testing-Library,  etc.) 
• Experience building front-end user interfaces and components
• Experience working in agile product teams (Scrum and Kanban)
• Has strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Curiosity and an interest in all aspects of government
• Has a strong orientation towards delivering results incrementally
• Self-starter who can collaborate effectively with the members of the product development team (product managers, architects, developers, etc.) 
• Strong technical background with detail-driven and excellent problem-solving abilities
• Willingness to adapt to a variety of programming languages

Nice to have experience:
• Domain expertise with software engineering for SaaS Platform teams is a plus
• Cloud Native software development experience 
• Experience with 12-factor application development
• Experience working in the cloud Azure, AWS, etc
• Front-end performance troubleshooting and tuning
• Good understanding of database fundamentals
• Microservice development experience (TypeScript, JavaScript)
