About The Role

Rackspace is looking for an Engineering Manager to become part of engineering leadership team for development of Guzzle, the DataOps platform. You will be working closely with engineers and product managers to build the future of the Guzzle.

You will lead a team of engineers, product managers and coordinate with other stakeholders at the company, including product management, support engineers, and solution sales team. You will take responsibility for the quality, efficiency, and reliability of product engineering. You will strive to maintain culture of technical excellence and high performance, fairness, and engagement.

What is Guzzle:- Guzzle, a DataOps platform that allows to easily create, deploy, and monitor of data pipelines consisting of ingestion, processing, reconciliation, data quality and house-keeping activities. Guzzle enables enterprises to achieve the right balance of agility and resiliency when building data products. Guzzle brings following together:

1.Its leverages best of Apache Spark and capabilities of database engines

2.Implements commonly used data integration patterns which enables accelerated build of data pipelines adhering to consistent standards

3.Handle Diverse workloads: Batch, Micro-Batch, Streaming and API

4.Auditability, Governance, Traceability, Provenance and Lineage /metadata

5.Deep support for Devops including out of box integration with Git (and git workflows), test-automation and CI/CD tools

Responsibilities

Become an expert in building DataOps platform which accelerates creation, deployment and monitoring of data products for the businesses.
Coach and mentor engineers on the team and help them advance in their careers
Recruit best of the engineers and drive the process from outreach through close
You will diagnose and resolve obstacles that prevent your team from delivering high-quality software
Improve the processes necessary to operate the team effectively. This includes core product development, release management, testing and QA process and recruitment.

Skills We’re Looking For

Strong track record as a software engineer delivering high impact software, with engineering manager or team lead experience.
Strong leadership skills and a proven ability to motivate teams to produce high quality software
Strong in decision making and problem-solving
Demonstrated competency in development processes, and program management
Experience in working with solution meant for data management and data processing
Ability to develop and communicate across teams to get an effective vision and get buy-in from stakeholders
Demonstrated technical skills in following areas: Java and related frameworks like Spring, React and Apache Spark
3+ years working in cloud environments either on AWS, Azure or GCP
Knowledge of software configuration management environments and tools such as JIRA, Git, Jenkins (or similar CICD tools), Shell, PowerShell.

Bonus Skills

Have worked with areas of data privacy security, data ingestion processing, data storage compute, analytical operational consumption, data modeling, data virtualization, self-service data preparation analytics, AI enablement, and API integrations
Be a big data evangelist by educating a variety of customers on the value of cloud and data services
Experience in designing and developing file, event, application, or database connectors
Collaborate with enterprise architects, data architects, ETL developers engineers, data scientists, and information designers to lead identification and definition of required data structures, formats, pipelines, metadata, and workload orchestration capabilities
