About the Data Analytics Team:
The Data Analytics Team handles terabytes of data to help Viki employees understand Viki’s users and learn about content trends. The team is responsible for collecting, processing and organizing large and complex datasets in order to generate actionable insights and help various teams at Viki make data-driven decisions. The centralized Analytics team supports data driven decisions across departments in Product, Marketing, Content and Finance.

The Data Analytics Team is seeking a Senior Product Manager, Data to help build the data platform that supports all business intelligence and insights generation at Viki, in addition to critical product features. The Senior Product Manager, Data position offers the unique opportunity of working at the intersection of Product, Engineering and Data Analytics. You are expected to have hands-on involvement in data projects while playing a key role in overall data strategy, roadmap planning, and stakeholder management. This role will be based in Singapore and report to the Director of Analytics.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Define the Data product feature roadmap and strategy to empower the business to make data driven decisions
  • Be the subject matter expert of all data systems as well as data products (Analytics, ML, business intelligence, etc.) and how such systems translate into outcomes
  • Drive the entire product lifecycle, from conception to launch, including gathering and synthesizing product requirements validation, ideation, development/delivery and continuous optimization
  • Work with Data Engineering, SRE and cloud vendors to manage and conceptualize Viki’s Data platform capabilities as well as feature development lifecycle, including new data sources / integrations, optimisation and defining SLAs for data access, performance and availability
  • Drive Data Management initiatives, working with Data Analytics, Data Engineering and other business stakeholders to implement Viki’s end-to-end data governance framework
  • Champion data literacy and adoption rates within the organization and oversee the full lifecycle of how data is used.
  • Initiate new and experimental efforts based on advanced analytics and latest available tools to find more avenues for data to drive growth at Viki
  • Develop and implement quality controls and standards to ensure trust towards the data
  • Keep up with industry trends and developments in the data analytics and data science space to inform Viki’s data roadmap
  • Define User Acceptance Testing (UAT) criteria and drive UAT activities
  • Create clear product specifications through a PRD, user stories, and measure product success

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in the Data space with BS in Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline
  • Expert knowledge of data systems and data products (analytics, ML, data pipelines, data processing, data warehousing, statistic, reporting)
  • Outstanding quantitative and analytical skills, coupled with strong business acumen
  • Prior working experience in: ETL and data pipelines: tracking, collecting, mapping, and storing data from multiple sources via cloud-based architecture; Delivering complex data products involving cross-functional stakeholders
  • Experience with: Data processing: Hadoop, MapReduce, Kafka; Data warehousing: Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake; Data visualization: Looker, Holistics, Tableau; Product analytics: Amplitude, CleverTap, Mixpanel; Cloud-based data warehouse and infrastructure: AWS, GCP
  • Enjoys hands-on and working in a relatively flat team structure
  • Ability to adapt rapidly in a fast-moving environment with shifting priorities and the ability to react quickly, dynamically, and intelligently
  • Ability to bridge communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to influence and guide cross-functional teams without direct authority
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills to handle multiple work streams and stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic startup environment
  • Experience setting up data infrastructure and governance
  • Experience building and deploying Machine Learning models
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python or other programming languages
  • Passion for Asian media and entertainment
