About Us …
We are Render. Our singular focus is best summarised by our purpose; continuously innovate and evolve technology to build networks better and connect communities.
Our geospatial network construction platform enables telecommunication network operators and construction teams to digitise the construction workflow and cut the time and cost of large-scale fibre deployment.
We’re a global organisation, but small enough that our people can have a direct impact on how we work and where we go next. We want people who can join us on our journey and grow with us.
About The Role …
As a our Technical (Engineering) Lead at Render, you’ll be designing, developing and managing web front ends, internal APIs, and leading a small team of developers in a B2B SaaS setting. You’ll be setting the technical vision of our web front ends and their interactions with our internal APIs to ensure the execution aligns with the strategy of Render’s business goals.
You will work closely with other teams across the business, including product managers, designers and other engineers to deliver high quality front-end components and APIs that meet the needs of our customers and partners.
This role has lots of variety, and while no 2 days are the same - here are some things you might find yourself doing:
\n- Setting technical standards and implementing across the team
- Work closely with a team of engineers to build out support API’s in line with Render’s tech strategy
- Performing a skills gap analysis to decipher what people in your team require support and upskilling
- Having regular 1:1’s with your team (also engineers) to develop their career goals, provide feedback and ensure they are across Render’s company strategy
- Hands-on coding
- Oversee the evolution of Render’s web platform, developing new functional and automation capabilities
- Experience in leading, developing and coaching a small team
- Experience working in multiple JS frameworks with an advanced knowledge of JavaScript & TypeScript
- Advanced understanding of React, in particular the use of functional components, efficient hook usage, state and store/context patterns & API integrations
- In-depth experience testing React components & frontend technologies as well as familiarity with linters, formatters and general code quality tools
- Experience in optimising and profiling web applications for efficiencies and performance, ie WebPack, code splitting, build tools, Lighthouse etc
- Expertise in Restful API design and management
- Ability to gather and document tech requirements and specs
- An understanding of CI/CD methodologies and building pipelines
We truly value diverse thoughts, cultures, and perspectives; and acknowledge that the tech industry is predominantly male-dominated. As such, if you don’t quite have every dot point listed above but think you have the right transferable skills for the role and could offer some diverse thinking to the mix - we would still like to see your application, and you can reach out to Jody Smith (Senior Talent Partner) for a confidential discussion via LinkedIn.
How To Apply
Please submit your CV, no need for a cover letter.
We have included some assessed questions in the application form that will provide you an opportunity to showcase some of your specific experiences and skills in line with what is required for the role.
Once you’ve submitted your application, we will review it and get back to you as soon as we can to advise whether you have progressed to the next stage of the process or not (interviews, skills assessment, reference checks, and probity checks).
