About our hiring partner

Our hiring partner is building the future of social commerce. They transform Instagram DMs into a powerful sales channel through AI-powered conversations, giving merchants tools to convert engagement into measurable revenue. The team ships fast, communicates in Slack (async first), and values clear thinking, low ego, strong English, and good humor. It’s a stealth environment—more showing, less telling.

Overview

We’re looking for a design engineer to turn complex AI capabilities into intuitive merchant experiences. You’ll own the look, feel, and flow across the platform—merchant surfaces and super-admin—crafting analytics dashboards, live conversation tools, and interaction patterns that drive revenue.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the merchant + super-admin experience across a React/Next.js app (Tailwind-first), from campaign setup to real-time conversation monitoring.

  • Ship pixel-perfect, accessible UI with clean component architecture, thoughtful motion, and responsive behavior.

  • Build sophisticated dashboards for campaign performance, conversation analytics, attribution, and time-range/filter drill-downs.

  • Define AI interaction patterns (quick actions, suggestions, NL prompts that reshape charts/tables) that non-technical users love.

  • Prototype fast in Figma and code—move from rough sketches to production with product and backend partners.

  • Raise frontend quality bars on performance, state management, testing, instrumentation, and UX standards.

What You Bring

Must-haves

  • 3+ years as a Design Engineer or Frontend Engineer with strong design instincts (or designer-turned-engineer).

  • Proficiency in React, Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS, plus modern state management patterns.

  • Strong visual/interaction craft—detail, motion, and precision matter to you.

  • Real-time UI experience (websockets/live updates, complex state, optimistic UX).

  • Data viz for analytics/BI (charts, tables, time series, cohorting, drill-downs).

  • Portfolio that shows shipped B2B SaaS or commerce-grade UI.

  • Clear English communication; collaborative, low-ego style.

  • Ability to join monthly in-person working sessions in Venice, CA.

Nice-to-haves

  • Design systems and component libraries (tokens, theming, docs).

  • Attribution/analytics platform experience.

  • E-commerce or martech background (Shopify, Stripe concepts).

  • Performance tuning in large React apps (profiling, memoization, hydration/streaming).

  • Accessibility expertise (keyboard flows, ARIA, contrast, audits).

  • LLM/agentic UI patterns in commerce (suggestions, quick actions, NL-to-query).

How You Work

  • Builder mindset: you ship, measure, and iterate.

  • Merchant-obsessed: you simplify complexity for non-technical users.

  • Systems thinker: you design reusable components and scalable patterns.

  • Curious and resilient: you enjoy hard problems and ambiguous specs.

  • Async teammate: you communicate clearly in Slack and PRs.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary + meaningful equity at an early stage.

  • Direct impact—your interfaces move revenue and shape the product.

  • Modern stack—React (19), Next.js (15), TypeScript, Tailwind, real-time data.

  • Technical autonomy—influence architecture, patterns, and tooling.

  • Remote flexibility with monthly collaboration in Venice, CA.

Interview Process

  1. Application Review — Portfolio + quick note on why social commerce and AI-driven UX excite you.

  2. Technical Chat — Architecture, state, performance, real-time UI, and your process.

  3. Design/Build Challenge — Prototype a merchant-facing feature (Figma + code welcomed).

  4. Team Interviews — Collaboration, product thinking, culture.

  5. Decision — Fast turnaround, typically within one week.
