Our Megaphone team is looking for a Web Engineer to develop and own software solutions on our fast-paced podcast and ad services technology. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our rapidly growing Megaphone team at the center of the podcasting world.


What You'll Do
  • Work day-to-day in a multi-functional team of engineers, designers, writers and product managers to build and maintain our React-based component library
  • Collaborate with other design systems teams on evolving our shared processes and tooling
  • Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, designers, and analysts
  • Bind our frontend and backend services together
  • Deliver testable, maintainable, and high-quality code
  • Monitor, test, and continuously optimize your designs
  • Ensure that our user experience is the very best it can be
  • Share knowledge, promote best practices, and collaborate with some of the best web engineers in the company
  • Be an impactful contributor to the team to plan, design, and build sophisticated and scalable solutions so that any person, anywhere in the world, has the ability to listen to music for free

Who You Are
  • You have around 3 years of experience in modern JavaScript coding, testing, debugging, and automation techniques
  • You should have some knowledge of semantic HTML and CSS. Ideally, you’d be familiar with React and its extensive ecosystem as well as developing tooling using Node.js and TypeScript
  • You have experience with continuous delivery and automated testing
  • You care deeply about usability, accessibility and performance
  • You are experienced working further up the web stack with systems like web servers, reverse proxies, and various caching mechanisms (Nginx, Apache, Node.js, GraphQL, Redis, memcached, Varnish, etc.)
  • You understand how web clients and web servers interact with one another, and how to optimize that communication based on various use cases
  • You are comfortable working in an agile environment, and are comfortable challenging yourself and your team to improve their ways of working
  • You are adaptable and inventive and you are able to develop effective solutions to problems
  • You are a good communicator and an empathetic, attentive listener with the capability to anticipate the needs of partners
