Senior Software Engineer - SpotOn Hospitality (Go/React)

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to design strong solutions and implement features within restaurant payment processing. Must excel in Golang and JavaScript, with React knowledge preferred. In this role you'll drive end-to-end feature development and deployment of the code between a customer swiping their credit card and our payment gateway. We are doing this with a  Data-driven mindset using tools like Datadog for metrics and dashboard creation. We collaborate across teams and hope to bring someone in that enjoys mentoring junior engineers in the best practices of Golang and their careers in general. Due to the nature of our upcoming work a successful candidate must have in production experience with Golang. If you haven't used Go for API development we will not be able to consider your candidacy at this time.

Responsibilities: 

• Implement new features and fix bugs in Golang, React and JS frontend
• Write MongoDB migrations
• Review work from your teammates (Code Review)
• Demo work to stakeholders
• Participate in refinement, retrospectives, and stand-ups
• Serve in on-call rotation for in 1 week shifts
• Troubleshoot production issues
• Assist other engineers (including mentorship of more junior engineers)

Qualifications:

• 5 years of full-stack software development (Go and Javascript a must, preference for React)
• 2 years of development experience with MongoDB
• 2 years of experience working with Typescript
• Experience with PostgreSQL
• Good command of spoken and written English
• Previous experience working in a small, fast-paced, agile team
• Comfortability pushing back on obstacles and voicing concerns

Nice to haves:

• Familiarity with credit card processing
• Android / Kotlin experience
• Experience leveraging GitHub Actions for deployments
• Experience working with Terraform
• Restaurant experience (server, host, cook…it helps to know the folks our software supports!)

Compensation:

• Our base pay range is $145,000 -$190,000 for this role
• Please note the salary range listed is just one component of a competitive compensation package which includes a company stock plan
