Role Purpose Our client is the leading Ka-band high throughput satellite capacity partner to the communications industry in EMEA.

Their mission is to provide mission-critical satellite capacity to defence and communications industry customers.

They are recruiting for the role of a Front-End Engineer who will participate in refactoring our clients commercial and technology operations platform, focussing on the front-end.

Key focus areas include building next-generation/cloud-enabled OSS capabilities around end-to-end service and resource orchestration, Domain orchestration for lifecycle management, real-time monitoring and reporting, zero-touch service assurance powered by AI and analytic tools.

This is a hands-on role with an emphasis on design and development covering all aspects of the development process - from collecting requirements, designing, developing, integrating and end-to-end system testing.

This role is 75% front-end and 25% back-end development.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities Front end development focussing on React whilst working with PHP/Symfony/AWS for back end Plan, design and develop front end applications that will be part of the Digital products portfolio Responsible for the integration of various applications from different suppliers into their next-generation OSS/BSS platform, ensuring ease of use, security, and scalability Work with the team to choose the best technical solutions, perform DB migrations when needed, test the apps, and do bug fixes, ensuring that the apps are of the highest quality and meet the users' needs Development and integration of user-facing elements Build efficient, testable, and reusable modules Work with Team Lead, Scrum Master and Product Owners in delivering user stories on time Integration of data storage solutions Automated testing with tools like PHPUnit/PHPSpec and Behat supporting CI/CD processes Skills & Qualifications Essential: Experience as a Front-End Developer with strong knowledge in JavaScript and framework React JS Proficiency with PHP 5/8 frameworks and experience in building cloud-native applications using microservice architecture in Cloud and Serverless Environments.

Knowledge of PHP web frameworks {{such as MVC, Symfony, Façade, Laravel etc}} and Object-Oriented PHP, thorough understanding of LAMP stack, SQL, memory usage optimization, Docker, Symfony.

Good understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application Good knowledge of user authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system - both SQL-based and NoSQL ( MySQL, Redis, MongoDB) Desirable: Experience migrating services to the cloud (preferably AWS) Experience with automated deployment platforms such as Jenkins / Gitlab CICD.
