Summary of role:

Willow is looking for an Engineering Lead in Seattle, WA, USA, or remotely within the United States. The role will report to the Director of Engineering. You will be embodying our culture and elevating our product quality and capabilities. Role & Responsibilities
  • Work as a member of the engineering team, building software solutions and contributing to the product's vision
  • Ensure that the team is delivering high quality, maintainable, and secure software solutions
  • Collaborate with the development team on design ideas, technical challenges, and code reviews
  • Find ways to continuously improve productivity and efficiency within the team
  • Model and strengthen our culture of transparency and knowledge sharing among team members

Technical Skills & Experience
  • Requirements:
  • Should have experience in managing teams of more than 5 people
  • 5+ years of healthy commercial experience in .NET Core.
  • 7+ years of experience in commercial software development
  • Comprehensive C# knowledge
  • Experience with various design patterns and software architecture principles, and an ability to teach them to others
  • Solid experience developing APIs for web and/or mobile clients
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tooling and DevOps practices
  • Excellent written English and asynchronous communication skills
  • Desired at least one of the following:
  • Deploying services to Azure and using Azure's various PaaS offerings
  • Experience in different business environments or industries
  • Building web clients with SPA frameworks (React for example)
  • Mobile development (Kotlin, Swift, and/or cross-platform frameworks)
  • Experience in multiple forms of test automation
  • Experience working in a software company or start-up

Leadership Skills & Experience
  • Requirements:
  • Experience leading a small team of developers/software engineers
  • Have a variety of approaches you've used to improve team productivity
  • A collaborative approach to working with Product Managers/Product Owners
  • Logical thinking and great problem-solving skills
  • A disciplined approach to delivery and team practices
  • Experience in making and explaining trade-off decisions to deliver customer value
  • Ability to identify problems early, and to resolve them before they grow
  • Nice to have:
  • Awareness of industry trends and a pragmatic approach to the adoption of new opportunities
  • Resolving the non-technical challenges that can occur in teams
  • Leading people with tech skills or roles different to yours
  • Experience working with distributed teams
  • Collaborative communications across time zones

This role can be performed in Vancouver or remotely within the Pacific time zone. Unfortunately, we're not able to provide visa support at the moment, you'll need to have the working rights for Canada.
